DAMASCUS BAKERIES is a 3rd Generation Bakery founded in 1930. We have three baking facilities: Brooklyn, New York, our history; Newark, NJ, our coprorate offices; Clifton, New Jersey, our newest bakery and R&D center. Since 1930, we have been baking Pitas, Lavash, Wraps, and Flatbreads.
BROOKLYN BRED is the Brand Name for many of our retail products, including our award winning Pizza Crusts and sandwich Bistro Buns.
We have a very strong- and even historic- presence in the Metro New York market. Since 2000, we have expanded our capacity and distribution to the National Market, supplying and partnering with many of America's top QSR's, Casual Dining Restuarants, Food Service Establishments, Retail, Club and Natural Stores, Institutions, Distributors, and other Bakeries. For many of our customers, we have been the Flatbread Partner that has helped to create some of America's most iconic sandwiches and pizzas.
We are an SQF and OSHA compliant company that currently employs 400 people, some who have been with us for more than 40 years. We are seeking a self-directed, dynamic, 'thinker & doer" to create the role of:
QUALITY SYSTEMS MANAGER
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Manage the Food Safety / Quality (SQF) Program of Damascus Bakery OPCO LLC (Newark), Damascus Bakery OPCO LLC (Clifton)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages the Company's Food Safety and Quality Programs (SQF / HAACP)
- Serve as a Leader and Critical Thinker who will work with all departments to foster company-wide Food Safety;
- Conducts Audits with regulatory agencies
- Manages the Customer Complaint Program and reports to management on a weekly basis
- Supports the Crisis management team and supports any crisis that may arise
- Supports Supplier Compliance Program
- Supports all Food Legislation Regulations, including, but not limited to: USDA; QAI (Organic);
- Manages the Environmental Program(s). including, but not limited to: Pathogen Testing; Air Swabbing;
- Oversees all Refesher Training Courses aimed at enhanced Food Safety and Quality Control
- Established and monitors Departments KPI's and Company Scorecard
- Supports Sanitation, specifically where Sanitation impacts Food Safety the SQF practitioner for company
